Fiber-optic cable company Bright Access will be connecting every business park in Assen to a fiber optic network.

RTV Drenthe reports that Stadsbedrijvenpark, Borgstee, Ketellapper, Peelerpark, Messchenveld, Kloosterveen and Schepersmaat will all be connected to the cables. Business owners at other locations in Assen can also be connected to the network.
Bright Access will utilise the existing infrastructure which was installed by Sensor City, a sensor company that went bankrupt in 2017. Bright Access will use the network, but they do not own it. Conservator Jeroen Reiziger is in talks with two other parties who could potentially take over ownership of the network.
