British Embassy holding virtual drop-in sessions for Brits worried about Brexit

The event is open until Monday November 2 at 18:00

By Thomas Ansell

As the United Kingdom rolls inexorably towards leaving the European Union (at the moment without a deal), the British Embassy in the Hague is reaching out to Brits in the Netherlands with a ‘Virtual Drop-in Event’.

British citizens can apply for a residence permit now via the Dutch IND, and no longer need an invitation letter to do so.

The event should connect British people living in the Netherlands with the Embassy’s diplomatic experts, who will be able to help with questions on residency rights, access to healthcare, and more. Depending on the questions asked at the event, the Embassy is likely to produce a series of informational videos in the next month or so.

At the ‘Virtual Drop-in Event’, the British Embassy team will be answering questions as they are posted: via Facebook comment, e-mail (ukinnl@fcdo.gov.uk), or indeed through an online form.

The event can be accessed here– the IWCN is also available to answer Brexit-related questions for British citizens living in the North.
