“It’s a good thing we no longer charge fines”
An unknown borrower has returned two Groningen library books after 36 years. The were loaned from the Public Library Groningen (previously at Vismarkt 27), and now located in the Forum Groningen, OOGTV reports.
“It’s a good thing that we no longer charge fines,” writes Else de Groot, communications officer at the Forum. “The books were left at a library in De Achterhoek (Borculo) , east of The Netherlands, and found their way back to Groningen from there.”
The Borculo Library can also see the humor in it: “Although a few years late, hereby the books are returned to the rightful owner!”
The books are “Of Women and Their Elegance”, a fictional memoir by Marilyn Monroe by Norman Mailer and “Idols Die Young, Heroes of the Twentieth Century” by Marianne Sinclair.
