The bowling alley of Kartracing & Bowling Groningen has been reopened after a thorough makeover. According to the owners, the new disco lighting, The Big Lebowski-themed design and new bar make it arguably the best looking bowling alley in the Netherlands.
Kartracing & Bowling Groningen is situated near the Kardinge sports center, in the northeast of the city. A group of local entrepreneurs bought the leisure center about a year-and-a-half ago and gave it a large makeover.
“First we bought new go-karts, then we updated the track, the restaurant and the business room”, says Gerben de Groot, one of the owners. “The opening of the completely refurbished bowling alley can be seen as the grand finale of the project.”
