The Province of Groningen is now ‘orange’
The increasing number of infections in the province of Groningen, and particularly in the student-filled City of Groningen, has caused the Belgian government to put the region as ‘orange’ for travel advice.
This means that Belgians are advised only to visit Groningen if it’s an essential trip, and are advised to get tested and go into quarantine upon their return.
Noord-Brabant, Flevoland, Utrecht; Limburg and Gelderland are also on code orange.
The provinces of North and South Holland are now listed as ‘red zones’, with Belgian people being asked to avoid the regions.
At the start of the Pandemic, Belgium was one of the worst-hit countries in Europe compared to its size.
