The city will get better and better looking with every bar visited
Translated by Thomas Ansell
As reported by the GIC, there’s a tasty new way to discover the city of Groningen, the Beerwalk! The idea is easy enough to understand; but beer is an interesting way to exhibit and tell the stories of the city. Guides from the Beerwalk organisers have been busy creating a route that works to both exhibit the history of Groningen but also show off some of its unique, beery, traditions.
Beerwalk Groningen, perhaps predictably, has been devised in collaboration with local city brewers: Dokjard, De Prael, Café De Toeter; and Brouwerij Martinus. Beerwalk, and all of its guides, are true Stadjers, and are mainly concerned with showing off Groningen in all its amber glory.
The tours are available to book now, via the Beerwalk Groningen website, and take 2.5 hours. The cost is 35 euros per person, and includes beers on the tour (but not the Eierbal at the end).
