Beer brewery Baxbier and beer specialty store Just in Beer are organizing a beer festival that will take place on May 20th and 21st on Baxbier’s premises on Friesestraatweg in Groningen. The festival falls on two anniversaries: the fifth anniversary of Just in Beer and the fifth edition of Bax’s own beer festival.
The festival’s lineup consists of brewers from the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, France, and the United States. The music will be provided by local musical talent. Tickets cost €15 and can be purchased at the brewery, Just in Beer and online via the Baxbier and Just in Beer websites. For this amount, visitors will receive a special anniversary glass, two beer tokens and the program booklet.
“Our shop in the Folkingestraat has been around for 5 years. We didn’t want to let that pass by. And who better to celebrate that with than Baxbier?” said John Kielman of Just in Beer to the Groningen Internet Courant. Co-owner Stevan van der Werf added: “At Bax, very nice beers are brewed. They have a fantastic location on the water, so that’s no brainer!”
Baxbier’s Kasper Hiddema is also excited about the festival: “Due to corona, our annual festivals have been canceled in recent years. When the guys from Just in Beer called us, we thought it would be great to celebrate the fifth edition of our International Craft Beer Fest with them.”
