Another public transportation strike will take place on Saturday, 26 May.
RTV Noord reports that bus drivers in the provinces of Drenthe and Groningen will take part in the strike, but Arriva trains will be running on a normal schedule.
Bus drivers in Utrecht, Het Gooi and West Brabant will also be on strike this weekend. The drivers chose to go on strike in the weekend instead of during the week so as to avoid inconveniencing secondary schools during their exams.
Saturday will be the fifth day of strikes in recent months. The strikes aim to achieve improved working conditions for employees in the public transportation sector. Labour union FNV Streekvervoer wants employers to decrease the work load of their 12,000 employ members and a raise.
