The organisers of the recently renamed Hello Festival (until recently Retropop) may have to change their name yet again: an Amsterdam agency has the rights to the name.

Dagblad van het Noorden reports that 4PM, an Amsterdam-based events agency, has informed Emmen that they own the rights to the name Hello festival. The group organises annual festivals in Enschede, Den Bosch and Maastricht around New Year’s Eve.
The Retropop festival just announced that it was changing its name in order to attract a wider range of musical acts and festival-goers. The newly named Hello Festival will be held in 2019 and will feature headliners including Lenny Kravitz.
4PM is claiming that the Emmen festival organisers are violating their copyright and says that they officially own the rights to the name. In a letter sent to the Drenthe festival team, 4PM called for the Emmen festival to change its name within a week or face legal action. Johan Lubbers, one of the Emmen organisers, confirms that they have received the letter but has not yet commented on the festival’s next steps.
