The municipality of Ferwerderadiel, where Burdaard is located, has warned residents about the aggressive common buzzard: the bird of prey has attacked multiple passer-by.
The Leeuwarder Courant writes that the bird may be defending its nest near the Steenendamsterweg. The municipality is calling for people to try and avoid disturbing the animal. “Once its young have hatched and gotten big enough, the bird will leave the area.”
