On 18, 19 and 20 February and on 25 and 26 February the motorway A7 on the Afsluitdijk, which connects Friesland with the province of Noord-Holland, will be closed for all traffic from 10 PM to 5 AM.
According to the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat) there have been problems with bridge control in the Afsluitdijk lately. During the five traffic free nights in februari Rijkswaterstaat is hoping to find out what is causing these issues and what can be done to prevent them.
Traffic in and out of Friesland will be redirected. Depending on where you need to go, your journey could take up to an hour longer than usual, warns Rijkswaterstaat.
