From 8 October 2021 to 27 March 2022, the Drents Museum in Assen will host the Viva la Frida! – Life and Art of Frida Kahlo exhibition. The exhibition is dedicated to the global icon and cult figure, Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.

The Drents Museum Assen will present two of the world’s most important Frida Kahlo collections. In collaboration with the Mexico-based Museo Dolores Olmedo and Museo Frida Kahlo, a unique mixture of Kahlo’s art and personal objects (including clothing, painted corsets, and jewellery) will be displayed.
Frida Kahlo is one of the best-known artists in the world. She is most famous for her vibrant self-portraits, feminist activism, and turbulent marriage with Mexican painter Diego Riviera. No wonder her adventurous life story inspired musicians, fashion designers, and movie directors alike.
