Some streets will be closed along the race route

Groningen will be filled with the sounds of huffing and puffing this weekend as the 4Mijl running and walking event comes to Groningen. As reported by the GIC, the 34th Edition of the Menzis 4Mijl van Groningen will take place on Sunday afternoon, whilst the day before the alternative ‘4Mijl4You’ will take place.
Large portions of both Groningen city and Haren will be part of the race route- including the Kerklaan and Rijksstraatweg in Haren, the Hereweg in southern Groningen, and much of the central area around the Vismarkt, Brugstraat, and Aweg. The full list is available here.
There will be high numbers of spectators, too, and extra public transport has been arranged, along with several huge bike parks at the Haddingestraat, Nieuwe Markt, and Gedempte Zuiderdiep in Groningen.
The race begins in Haren, and ends on the Vismarkt in Groningen- the full route can be seen here. Those interested in running or walking the 6.3KM route can still sign up until Saturday at 12:00, here.
