A 49-year-old man from Groningen has been arrested in connection with the attempted rape case that happened at the Hereweg earlier this month.
In a statement, police said they made the arrest on Wednesday evening but released no further details.
The case occurred on the 9th of August when a young woman was dragged off of her bike and taken to a residential area nearby. The victim alerted residents prompting the suspect to flee. The police had started a search which had yielded no results.
In the past weeks, there has been extensive investigation done by police including publishing the suspects’ bike and description after which the suspect was found.
