The Leeuwarder Courant writes that the 4,000 panels will cost 1.8 million euros altogether, none of which the rental tenants will have to pay for themselves. According to a representative from Accolade, all of their tenants are in favour of the plans.
There will be between 6 and 10 panels installed on the roof of each home, and the installation works are scheduled to be completed before Christmas. Accolade has been working on adding sustainable energy amenities to their properties for a while: they have already installed solar panels on 430 homes and intend to obtain a B energy label for all of their 16,000 units by 2020.
