Between Saturday and Sunday, 75 residents of the city of Groningen tested positive for the Coronavirus, the largest number of new infections in one day. In the entire province, 117 new cases were recorded, according to the figures from the Coronavirus dashboard.
Between Friday and Saturday, 204 positive tests were filed in the province of Groningen, of with 154 from the municipality of Groningen (which would indicate a sharp rise in new cases). However, this involved considerable administrative catch-up. Due to a coupling error, dozens of infections were accidentally logged that were actually known about in six days before, reports the GIC.
According to the dashboard, no new patients have been admitted to hospital from Groningen in recent days.
Across the country, 4,006 individuals tested positive between Saturday and Sunday. There are now 810 Coronavirus patients in Dutch hospitals, 163 of whom are in Intensive Care; an increase of 69 on the day before.
